So it was slightly less oppressively hot today, which s good, because yesterday left me completely drained and listless. Today, however, I went and bought a lovely new dress for my friend's thirtieth birthday party tomorrow night. It may not be the same purple as my lovely new hairstyle, but it is a very lovely plum with some lavender on the front. It looks fantastic with my skin tone. Now I have to figure out what I'm doing with my hair and makeup tomorrow, and maybe get new shoes. She wanted it dressy and semi-formal, so I'm going to totally knock their socks off. I also got a more everyday kind of dress. And, both in the first store I went to. Quite satisfying to not have to run all over damned town looking. Tomorrow when I'm all dolled up, I promise photos.
I start my art class on Wednesday. I'm both excited and apprehensive. I know I'll knock their socks off, but for some reason I'm stressed about it. I guess it's just all the time between the last time I was in school and this time. Still, art is my thing, so I'm confident in my ability to do well. What I'm really excited about is the cake decorating and candy making class. By the end of that one, I'm hoping I've refined my skills to the point where people will look at my cake and say things like "Oh wow, that thing is awesome! What do you mean it's a cake?" I'm determined to be good at this, and I'm very artistic, so I know I will get there with practice.
